GUWAHATI, March 19 � Following the decision of Dr Parvez Ahmed to join the Trinamool Congress and contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls from Barpeta even after it had announced his nomination from Silchar, the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) today said the party will put up a strong alternative candidate from the Barak Valley seat.
A senior AIUDF leader told The Assam Tribune that a final decision on the candidates for Silchar and Mangaldai constituencies would be taken by the weekend after the party�s supremo Badruddin Ajmal returns from abroad.
