AIUDF stand on �D� voters criticised

GUWAHATI, June 30 � The Assam Public Works (APW) today came down heavily on AIUDF and a few other organizations for trying to create problem on the issue of �D voters� and demanded of the government not to compromise on the matter.

The APW said that a section was trying to create confusion on the issue of D voters by pushing the cause of the Bangladeshis and it urged the authorities concerned to improve the infrastructure of the foreigners tribunals for speedy disposal of the cases of D voters. �Of the 36 foreigners tribunals in the State, most of them do not have the necessary infrastructure,� said functionaries of APW while addressing a press meet here.

It needs to be mentioned here that a delegation of APW will leave for New Delhi on July 2 to meet the Chief Election Commissioner on the issue of D voters.
