AIUDF releases first list of candidates

GUWAHATI, March 12 - The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) today released its first list of candidates for the forthcoming State Assembly polls.

The list contains the names of 16 candidates.

The list of candidates and the constituencies from which they will contest is as follows: Rajib Biswas (Ratabari), Dr Debendra Kumar Sinha (Patherkandi), Aziz Ahmed Khan (Karimganj South), Abdul Aziz (Badarpur), Anwar Hussain Laskar (Hailakandi), Suzam Uddin Laskar (Katlichara), Nizam Uddin Choudhury (Algapur), Karim Uddin Barbhuiya (Sonai), Khalil Uddin Mazumder (Katigorah), Dilip Nath (Tezpur), Syed Jahid Abdullah (Golaghat), Sahjahan Ali (Khumtai), Sanjeev Rajkhowa (Jorhat), Gayatri Borah Kalita (Amguri), Mamun Imdadul Haq Choudhury (Naoboicha) and Dipak Chetia (Lakhimpur).

The AIUDF is likely to release the second list of its candidates on March 16. The party had earlier announced that it would field candidates in 60 constituencies and support other �secular� parties in the remaining 66 seats.
