NEW DELHI, July 16 Alleging all-round failure of the BTC in maintaining the internal security situation, the AIUDF today demanded imposition of Presidents Rule in the BTAD areas.

A delegation of the AIUDF led by its president Badruddin Ajmal, called on President Pranab Mukherjee to apprise him of the killings in BTAD areas.

The party has also demanded a CBI probe into the killings, alleging that the culprits involved in such acts of violence always get away. The delegation, comprising MPs and MLAs, reiterated the demand for seizure of illegal arms and review of the BTC Accord.

Meanwhile, Kokrajhar MP Naba Kumar Sarania today met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and submitted a memorandum demanding Central intervention.

Sarania said that the people living in the BTAD areas have lost faith in the police and State Government machinery.

He also attacked the former MP of Kokrajhar alleging that the BPF MP had ignored the plight of the people.
