AIUDF is Congs enemy, not friend: Ripun Bora

By Correspondent

DHUBRI, April 20 - Quashing all the allegations of the Opposition that the AIUDF and the Congress party has some unholy understanding for the Lok Sabha elections, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committees president Ripun Bora today said that the party with Badruddin Ajmal as head has been an enemy to his party and a friendship between them is not possible.

While addressing a rally in Dhubri stadium to campaign for the Congress candidate for the 4-Dhubri HPC, Abu Taher Bepari, the senior leader of the party said that there is no kind of understanding or agreement between the parties and alleged that the presence of the AIUDF has helped the BJP instead. How can we be friend with a party that helped the BJP come to power in the State in 2016. In the absence of AIUDF, the votes would not have been divided in most of the constituencies and we would have easily won the elections and form the government, said Bora. He also urged the people from the minority community to come forward this time, in large numbers in support of the Congress and further said, AIUDF is the main reason for all the current problems of Assam.

Bora also promised that if the Congress comes to power, they will solve the issue of D-Voters and will make sure that no genuine Indian had to stay in detention camps.

The rally which was attended by the president of the All India Women Congress, Sushmita Deb targeted PM Narendra Modi by charging him of weakening Government Institutions, dividing the people on the basis of language and religion and for not fulfilling the promises. This time it is not only an election but a fight between communalism and secularism, a fight to protect the Constitution, a fight for the security of the common people and a fight to protect the country, Deb said.
