GUWAHATI, March 23 - All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) today released its first list of candidates, comprising names of the partys nominees from three constituencies, for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.

AIUDF president and sitting MP Badruddin Ajmal will once again contest from the Dhubri constituency. The party has also renominated its sitting MP from Karimganj constituency, Radheshyam Biswas.

The AIUDF has, however, changed its candidate in Barpeta. The party has given candidature to former MLA Rafiqul Islam from the Barpeta constituency. Sitting AIUDF MP from Barpeta seat, Sirajuddin Ajmal, has opted out of the race due to health issues.

The AIUDF, which is planning to contest from at least seven or eight constituencies, will announce the names of its other candidates later.

The party had won from three (Dhubri, Barpeta and Karimganj) out of the 14 constituencies of Assam in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
