AIUDF B team of BJP: Cong

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Jan 10 - The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today charged the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) of being the B team of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The APCC also reiterated that the Congress never had thoughts of any alliance with the AIUDF.

Instead, it was the AIUDF which came with an offer of alliance with the Congress party for the ensuing Assembly polls, APCC general secretary Imdad Hussain was quoted as saying in a press statement.

The Congress further alleged that the BJP is having a secret understanding with the AIUDF for the ensuing Assembly polls in the State and the alliance formula adopted in Jammu and Kashmir could be repeated in the State, too.

In the last Lok Sabha polls, too, the AIUDF acted at the behest of the BJP. The AIUDF fielded its candidates to divide the vote share of minorities. In the forthcoming polls also, the same understanding will prevail, alleged Hussain.

Lashing out at AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal, the Congress further said that the AIUDF under Ajmal has lost its mass base and the minority voters will teach the party a lesson in the ensuing polls.

Hussain further said that the Congress is confident of emerging as the single largest party in the polls.

The BJPs dream to win the 2016 polls and make Ajmal the Deputy Chief Minister will never be a reality, he added.
