JORHAT, Sept 14 - Shahir Farhaz edged past Jeet Dutta 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 in a thrilling all Assam final of the AITA Championship Series U-16 Tennis Tournament.
The boys U-16 final lasted more than two and half hours at the Jorhat Tennis Club here today.
The girls singles final was also played between two Assam players where Justina Borgohain got the better of Namrata Das 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in a match that lasted around three hours.
In the closing function the prizes were distributed by Maj Gen (Retd) Sukesh Rakshit, DSA Kaziranga University and Raktim Saikia, president of the All Assam Tennis Association.
