GUWAHATI, March 30 - To reach out to the grassroots to counter the growing Covid-19 threat, the All India Radio Guwahati is conducting daily programme �Pratirodh� involving sharing of information and interaction with the audience.
�The programme has received positive response from the listeners who we try to educate and keep informed about the various facets of the global pandemic and the do�s and don�ts for preventing a major outbreak. We cross-check information, play audio message and try to reply queries through an expert, connect officials and ministers over phone, and provide one-line info � mostly on the State,� Manas Pratim Sarma, News Editor, said.�
He said the recent interactive sessions included communicating with the Air India staff involved in the Wuhan rescue. �On Saturday we talked to the State Handloom & Textiles Minister, who announced measures for our weavers.�
AIR now being available on the digital platform, it has managed to reach larger audiences across the globe.��With wider penetration, we have reached out to new segments of audiences,� Sarma said.
AIR Guwahati will also broadcast a novel radio learning programme of Sarva Shiksha Abhijan-Assam from April 6. �The aim of the programme is to help students to be in touch with learning activities during the lockdown period,� he said.
AIR Guwahati is also doing a regular live phone-in programme �Dristipat� focused on Covid-19. Here, the listeners are able to interact with senior officials, health experts, etc.
