MUMBAI, March 30 (PTI): Air India take on relegation-threatened Shillong Lajong FC in a 19th round I-League match at the Cooperage ground here tomorrow. Both the teams are on an upswing after a rather ordinary start to their campaign.
In their previous three matches, Air India have registered victories against Pune FC 1-0 and East Bengal 2-0, and drawn against Mumbai FC 0-0.
Air India have so far accumulated 22 points from 18 games with the help of six victories and four draws and they are ninth position in the league table. For Air India, a win will also avenge their embarrassing 0-3 defeat against Lajong in their earlier meeting in the tournament.
However, the hosts would do well not to get misled from the fact that Lajong are languishing at 13th in the league table, given the form of the Federation Cup finalists, who tamed Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan 4-1 in their previous match.
In the three matches preceding that, Lajong drew with Sporting Clube De Goa 0-0, defeated Pune FC 1-0 and East Bengal 1-0. The team has so far collected 20 points from 18 matches with the help of five wins and five draws.
