SHILLONG, Oct 9 - The Eastern Air Command celebrated the 87th Air Force Day at its headquarters at Upper Shillong today. On the occasion, Air Marshal RD Mathur, administered an oath to all personnel of the command. The Chief of the Eastern Air Command, advised all the personnel to remain committed towards service to the nation and the IAF.
He reminded of the glorious past and acknowledged the valuable contribution of veterans, who have added to the rich legacy of IAF, a Defence official said.
Air Marshal Mathur also lauded the �contribution, commitment and regular display of professionalism� by the IAF personnel in providing humanitarian assistance in its area of operation.
On this occasion, he distributed the Commendation Cards to IAF personnel and also civilians for their exceptional service and contribution to the IAF.
