AIPC launches awareness campaign on NRC

By STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, Aug 7 - The Assam unit of the All India Professionals Congress (AIPC) has launched an awareness-cum-social media campaign on the issue of the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

AIPC stated that the final draft of the NRC prepared in Assam is a fair one. Those applicants who have not found their names in the final draft would be given ample opportunity to prove their eligibility for inclusion of their names in the final NRC.

Such applicants are required to submit their claims in the prescribed form. Corrections can also be made in respect of errors in the spelling of names, age, address details, etc.

The final NRC will be published by the government only after disposal of all claims, said the Assam unit of the AIPC in the social media, including the WhatsApp messages it has sent to the people and media houses with the toll free contact number of the NRC authorities.

Meanwhile, the AIPC has launched its e-bulletin as ready reference on NRC related queries. This initiative has been taken to make people aware of NRC through social media campaign, stated AIPC Assam State unit vice president Gauravv Somani.
