Ailing music maestro Prema Chamua feted

NORTH GUWAHATI, July 23 � Under the auspices of �Chiyor�, a leading socio-cultural organisation founded in 1994 here, a widely known and respected music maestro, Prema Chamua, was feted in a public meeting held for the purpose by presentation of songs, dances and recitation of poems written for the purpose by a large number of artistes hailing both from the city areas and North Guwahati on July 17.

The organisation, �Chiyor� organised a meeting at North Guwahati Girls High School auditorium to felicitate the ailing artist by presentation of songs by those artistes who were associated with the maestro.

Earlier, Diganta Bordoloi, the president of the organising explained the purpose of the meeting which was followed by a Borgeet by Bijaya Bora. The ailing artiste, was presented various gifts including phulam gamocha, sarai, japi, citation etc.

The artistes who presented their songs included Sikha Dutta, Anjali Das, Darshana Sarmah, Manoj Das, Vitali Das, Neerada Choudhury, Dr Anjonjyoti Choudhury, Dharmeswar Bezboruah and Ajay Das.
