Aid sought for cancer-stricken child

By Staff Correspondent

SILCHAR, July 16 - For Rupak Paul and Kakoli Paul, parents of one and half year old Rohan, life has taken a worse turn since their son suffered an accident at home. Rohan has a bulged nose and in medical terms he is suffering from neuroblastoma, a kind of child cancer.

Rupak, a driver from Nayagram in Borjalenga area of Cachar district told The Assam Tribune around one year ago, Rohan fell from bed and a tiny lump was detected inside his nose. Gradually, the lump began to expand which led us to consult doctors. We took him to NEIGRIHMS in Shillong wherein doctors diagnosed that Rohan is suffering from neuroblastoma and prescribed that he should be taken to AIIMS New Delhi. But since we are financially weak, we chose to consult doctors at the B Borooah Cancer Hospital at Guwahati and so far our child was given three doses of chemotherapy.

Further Rupak said that the lump on the right portion of the nose has bulged so much that at time the minor could feel lukewarm pain, much to his distress. We want to take him to AIIMS but we have no money for his treatment. Hence we appeal before the people to come forward to extend helping hands to save our child, Rupak said adding that financial help can be made at the SBI account number 20025108190 with IFSC code SBIN 0005922.
