NEW DELHI, Aug 17 � The standoff between Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi and Himanta Biswa Sarma has worried AICC, even as the possibility of a Cabinet rejig appears imminent.
The Chief Minister, who is under pressure from the AICC to amicably resolve the differences with his once trusted lieutenant, has so far refused and seems to have made up his mind to see Himanta go, said sources.
The Centre, meanwhile has suggested to the Chief Minister to appoint a Home Minister soon to lighten his burden. Gogoi is currently handling both the ministries of Finance and Home, considered �heavy�.
However, sources said that following the recent incidents of back-to-back incidents of violence in Assam, the Home Ministry has again requested that he should appoint a Home Minister to shoulder some of his burden.
