NEW DELHI, May 30 The crisis-resolution by AICC observers has gathered momentum, with the Congress leaders holding two separate rounds of meeting with Chief Minister Tarun Gogois loyalist.

The loyalists, who had all gone back to Assam, were summoned by AICC general secretary in-charge for Assam Dr CP Joshi for consultations with AICC observer Ghulam Nabi Azad.

The first round was held in the afternoon, in which a few proposals were discussed to resolve the crisis.

Gogoi loyalists and Azad again sat for the second round this evening to further explore some of the ideas that was thrown around, said sources.

It has been learnt that one of the proposals under discussion was reshuffle of Gogoi ministry and appointment of Himanta Biswa Sarma as the next PCC president. This proposal, however, did not find favour in the Gogoi camp, the sources added.

As reported, the observers are working on several proposals, like dropping of ministers who have completed 10 years. Another proposal was equally divide the number of ministers between the two camps.

According to sources Azads brief is to ensure that the Chief Minister continues in his post despite pressure from the rebel groups.
