GUWAHATI, Jan 21 - The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has made arrangements for online reporting by supervising officers of each examination centre during the upcoming HS Final Examination to start from February 12 at 772 centres across the State.
With the exams drawing closer, the AHSEC is making elaborate arrangement from security to logistical arrangement to conduct the exams smoothly. The provision of online reporting has been introduced to ensure effective central monitoring of each day of the examination to be conducted in Arts, Commerce, Science and Vocational streams.
Earlier, the supervising officer had to give his report through a hard copy. But this time we will get to know about the status of each examination centre within seconds through online reporting, AHSEC Controller of Examination Pankaj Borthakur told The Assam Tribune. The report contains the presence and absence of the examinees, number of male and female students, number of expelled students and also particulars of any untoward incident happening at a particular centre.
Moreover, an observer having academic background has been appointed in each district for district-wise monitoring of the examination. The exam centres would be CCTV-monitored and centre committees have been formed to look after the exam-related preparations, Borthakur added.
Like last year, use of mobile phone or any other electronic gadgets has been prohibited in the examination hall. Even the invigilator cannot carry mobile phones inside the hall. We have issued instructions for proper adherence to the rules and any violation will be strictly dealt with. Moreover, copies of the rule book containing guidelines for conducting the examination have been sent to the centres so that no rule is violated, Borthakur further said.
