DIBRUGARH, April 30 - The Ahom Sabha has expressed grave concern over the recent spate of violence against journalists in the State.
The majority of violence against journalists that has occurred lately has been driven by the rising intolerance, the Sabha observed. They said that the situation in the State was becoming dangerous and people were on the verge of losing the freedom of press.
If such a situation continues, the press will have no value in the State, the Sabha underlined and urged the government to take stringent action against the culprits involved and commit itself to the safety and security of journalists.
