AGSU street play highlights ills of ragging

GUWAHATI, Aug 1 - The All Guwahati Students� Union (AGSU) today launched its anti-ragging campaign in the city colleges that have started admitting fresh students from today.

The AGSU, in a statement issued here this evening, said that its members enacted a street play on the campuses of several city colleges to generate awareness among the students about the adverse effects of ragging.

The colleges and universities covered by the AGSU members today include Cotton University, Handique Girls� College, B Borooah College and Arya Vidyapeeth College. The teachers of these academic institutions and guardians of the students extended support and cooperation to the AGSU members in staging the street play.

Those who took part in the play were students of Cotton University and Handique Girls� College.

The AGSU will enact the street play on the campuses of other city colleges in the days to come, said the student body in its statement.
