Agripreneurship orientation programme launched

GUWAHATI, Aug 26 - The North East Agriculture Technology Entrepreneurs Hub (NEATEHUB), an agri-tech incubation centre hosted by the Assam Agricultural University (AAU) at Jorhat has started its first batch of Agripreneurship Orientation Programme (AOP) for budding entrepreneurs.

The two-month programme started from the first week of August and is intended for students and youth who have innovative ideas for improving the agricultural entrepreneurship landscape of the region.

The residential programme also provides a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month. After successful completion of the training, participants are eligible to apply for a grant-in-aid upto Rs 5 lakh, subject to their DPRs being approved by a team of experts, an official release said.

The programme is conducted by NEATEHUB, which is a non-profit company established under the aegis of the Jorhat-based AAU and has raised funding from NITI Aayog and Department of Agri Cooperation and Farmers Welfare (DAC & FW) flagship scheme RKVY-RAFTAAR (Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana - Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvenation).

Addressing the participants at the inaugural session, the CEO of NEATEHUB, Dr K Karthikeyen said that NEATEHUB had been established to create a robust and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem to build successful start-ups in the North East.
