Agri-horti show from Jan 6

GUWAHATI, Jan 3 - The State Agriculture department and the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) have joined hands to organise the 3rd Assam International Agri-Horti Show, 2016, one of the flagship programmes of the State Government, from January 6 to 9 here, stated a press release.

The ICC has been instrumental in converting a State-level show into an international show. The ICC has also been encouraging the foreign investors, buyers and importers to participate in the show and enter into partnership with State Government.

In this year's show, the ICC has roped in 35 international stalls representing countries of China, Netherlands, Myanmar, Canada, Nepal, Bhutan, Italy, Taiwan and Bangladesh. A total of 200 foreign delegates are likely participate in the show including 100 farmers from Nepal, 50 business and government delegates from China, 15 delegates from Nepal, 13 from Myanmar, six from Canada and rest from the other countries.

An Indo-Canada roundtable on animal development in NE States would be organised in association with Canadian High Commission. The Animal Husbandry Commissioner of India and Animal Husbandry Directorates of Northeastern States will participated in the programme to chalk out a roadmap for policy development and investment opportunities in NE States.
