DHEMAJI, March 15 - The Dhemaji district committee of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has strongly urged the BJP alliance to nominate Dr Paramananda Sonowal as the candidate from the BJP alliance for the forthcoming bi-polls to the No. 113 Dhemaji Legislative Assembly Constituency.
This demand has been raised at a party meeting held yesterday at the district AGP office premises at Dhemaji town with participation of nearly 1,000 party workers, including presidents and secretaries of 38 anchalik units of the district AGP committee, along with the district-level top portfolio holders of Asam Mahila Parishad, Yuba Parishad, Krishak Parishad and Janajati Kosh.
The meeting, presided over by Lakhidhar Shenchowa, president of Dhemaji district unit of the Asam Gana Parishad, demanded that Dr Sonowal, the highly apposite local candidate by the Dhemaji district unit of AGP, be given candidature from the BJP alliance for the ensuring Dhemaji LAC bi-polls to be held on April 9.
