GUWAHATI, Sept 8 - NDA constituent Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today called upon the Supreme Court to review the recently-published final NRC.
An extended general body meeting of the party was held here today under the chairmanship of AGP president and Agriculture Minister Atul Bora.
A detailed deliberation regarding the NRC was held during the meeting.
The party said the final NRC does not reflect the Assam Agitation and sacrifices made by the people of Assam, and requested the apex court to review the final register.
The party has announced that it will set up legal assistance cells at the district and constituency levels to help genuine Indian citizens whose names are missing from the final NRC.
AGP leaders also discussed issues related to strengthening the party and the forthcoming month-long membership drive.
The meeting decided to organise the party�s 35th foundation day on October 14 at North Salmara.
