AGP slams Cong, BJP

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, May 26 Accusing both the Congress and the BJP of politics of betrayal, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president Atul Bora said that, while the Congress party has utterly failed to identify the real issues of the people in spite of ruling for 14 years in the State, the BJPs u-turn on a number of issues like the mega dam and the land boundary agreement exposed its true character.

We are now rejuvenated and the party workers are committed to work for the welfare of the people. We are going for a mass awareness programme that will propel ouster of the Congress and the BJP, Bora said. He said that with a new perspective, the party would make constituency-wise assessment of the hopes and aspirations of the voters.

Taking potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bora alleged that the Modi Government is working for the corporate sector and the Acche Din are only for that select group.

The last 365 days of Modi Government have been a period of betrayal for Assam. We lost land and we also lost the special status. Not a single promise made in the manifesto before the 2014 polls have been executed, Bora alleged.
