GUWAHATI, Aug 23 - The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is ready to accept in its fold the leaders of the national organisations willing to take part in active politics. In a statement signed by its general secretary Ramendra Narayan Kalita, the AGP said that those leaders of the national organisations who are willing to take part in active politics should join the AGP for a secured future of Assam and its people.
The statement said that without a strong regional force, there is no way out for the solution of the problems of Assam and its people. Therefore, the leaders of the national organisations, who have been fighting for the rights of Assam and its people and against the all-India parties that are bent on exploiting the resources of Assam, should regard AGP as their first choice, the party said.
