GUWAHATI, Dec 7 - The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today denied forging any electoral alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

AGP president Atul Bora told this newspaper today that though the issue of alliance between the AGP and the BJP is assiduously discussed in the political circles, the reality is that the AGP will have to discuss the issue in the proper forum prior to forging any alliance with any national party.

Bora, however, admitted that his party is holding parleys with the tribal political parties since October with an aim at arriving at a consensus, keeping in view the ensuing Assembly elections in the State.

The party leaders have the mandate so far to hold discussions with the regional political parties and organisations for the purpose, he said.
