GUWAHATI, Sept 3 Accusing the opposition BJP and AGP of playing politics over the Saradha case and CBI raids, the State government has challenged them to furnish proof about Chief Minister Tarun Gogois alleged involvement in the chit fund scam rather than merely making accusations.
Environment and Forest Minister and State government spokesperson Rockybul Hussain told reporters here on Tuesday that the BJP and AGP have been making false accusations against Gogoi.
If they (Opposition) have any proof about the Chief Ministers involvement in this (chit fund scam) they should submit the evidence to the CBI rather than merely addressing press conferences and making accusations, Hussain said.
Regarding the beating up of three Assamese students at NEHU in Shillong, he said there is no relation between that incident and the one involving the return of some employees of private companies, who were forced to flee the neighbouring state yesterday.
Hussain said the Commissioner (Home) of Assam was in constant touch with his Meghalaya counterpart and the situation was being monitored.
Asked about the directive from the Union Government to all schools across India to install facilities for viewing the special address of Prime Minister Narendra Gogoi on Teachers Day, Hussain said it is up to the schools and nobody can be compelled to provide facilities like DTH and TVs at educational institutions.
