AGP accuses Cong, BJP of cheap politics

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Jan 10 Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today alleged that both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been resorting to cheap conspiracies to grab power in the State with the help of wicked politics in the name of solving the problems of the people.

Addressing the Jatiya Chetana Yatra rallies organised by the party at different places located under the Boko Legislative Assembly Constituency, AGP president Atul Bora alleged that both the parties have belittled the sentiments of the States people to fulfil their political ambitions. Both the parties are conspiring to turn the illegal migrants from Bangladesh into genuine Indian citizens, he alleged.

Addressing the rallies, which were held at Nagarbera, Samaria etc places, Bora also exhorted the people to build AGP as the viable alternative to the Congress and the BJP. The deceit of the BJP and the corruption and misrule of the Congress have created an atmosphere of despondency for the people of the State, he said.

He told the gatherings at the rallies that the AGP has fixed a target of enrolling 35 lakh people as its members and it would observe the current year as a year for strengthening regionalism.

Addressing the rallies, AGP general secretary Dr Kamala Kanta Kalita warned that the communal politics of the BJP would face resistance in Assam.
