AGARTALA, May 29 � The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has assured the Tripura Government to start face-lift of Agartala Airport, the second busiest airport in the NE, at the earliest.
AAI Chairman RK Srivastava who arrived here on Thursday met Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and briefed him about the modernisation plan for the State�s lone airport.
Sources said the AAI chairman has sought another four acres of land for the modernisation plan for Agartala Airport and the State Government has agreed to arrange the land.
The AAI chairman later told media that the �modernisation will begin after finalisation of the model of the proposed work and the project stands at Rs 400 crore�.
