AG Bengal emerge champs

GUWAHATI, Jan 16 - AG West Bengal edged past AG Odisha by one wicket to emerge champions in the IA&AD East Zone Cricket Tournament.

In the keenly contested final at the Assam Cricket Association�s Barsapara stadium here today, in reply to Odisha�s 169 for nine in the allotted 40 overs, West Bengal scored 182 for nine, including 16 penalty runs, in 40 overs.

Biplab Samantray and Bibhudutt Panda, both Odisha were adjudged man-of the-the-tournament and man-of-the-match respectively.

In the closing function Rajib Prakash Baruah, ADC Kamrup (M) was the chief guest where Deepak Narain, Accountant General (A&E) Assam and Routh, Sr Dy Account General (Admn) were present as guests.
