GUWAHATI, Sept 6 - The AG Assam team emerged champions in the East Zone IA&AD Badminton Tournament held at Shillong.
In the final of the team event, Assam blanked Odisha 3-0 today.
Nitish Bora defeated Manas Raut 21-14, 17-21, 23-21; Nandakumar Singh beat Mohan Kumar 21-12, 21-7 in singles while Rajeeb Boruah and Nitish Bora got the better of�Manas Raut and Gyan Chand duo 21-12, 21-18.�
With this win, AG Assam has qualified�to participate in the All India IA&AD Badminton Tournament to be held at Bhopal from September 23 to 25.
Nitish Bora and Ningshi Block Hazarika reached final in the mixed doubles to be held tomorrow.
