After eviction, dist admin starts cleanliness drive

GUWAHATI, March 5 - After completing the eviction drive along the stretch of the National Highway-37 from Khanapara to Jalukbari in the city, the Kamrup Metro district administration has now started a cleanliness drive.

Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro Dr M Angamuthu has asked the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials to clear all garbage and other materials from Khanapara to Jalukbari by March 10.

Enforcement wing of Transport Department and Police Department have been told to remove all vehicles stationed at the avenue roads along the National Highway-37.

Traffic police has been requested to help the respective teams to remove vehicles parked in front of showrooms, malls, plaza, petrol pump and other establishments either by using crane or by other method.

The Transport Department has been asked to identify areas where bus stoppages may be constructed.
