AFC Grassroots Day celebrated

GUWAHATI, May 15 - Altogether 70 young players took part in the AFC Grassroots Day celebrations organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) at the Nehru Stadium here today.

The festival was organised for the age group of U-12 which also included a small prize distribution ceremony.

Three teams including APRO Jalukbari, DPS Khanapara and Police Reserve FC took part in the event.

Rohan Mannar of DPS was adjudged the best player while Subashish Thakuria of APRO Jalukbari was awarded the most promising player trophy. Rihan Alam of APRO Jalukbari was adjudged the creative player of the event while Jaynesh Das of DPS Khanapara was awarded the best goalkeeper. An event was also organised at DPS Khanapara which also featured more than 100 boys and girls, stated a release.
