GUWAHATI, July 24 - The Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission (AERC) today announced the revised power tariff for the 2015-2016 financial year. This time, there is no hike sought to be effected by the Commission in power tariff, rather in cases, it has slightly reduced the tariff.
It has reduced existing energy charge of Rs 4.60 to Rs 4.30 per KWh (unit) in case of the lower tension agriculture category people who use up to 7.5 horse power motors in their fields, etc. This category is a non-subsidised one.
Similarly, in the temporary consumers� category, the energy charge has been reduced to Rs 4.50 per KWh from the existing Rs 6.75 per KWh. This is also a non-subsidised category of power consumers.
It has also introduced a new category for the consumers, who secure temporary HT power connections, with the provision of a fixed charge of Rs 145 per KWh in a month and Rs 8.50 as the energy charge for the consumption of per KWh of power. This category is also a non-subsidised category.
