GUWAHATI, April 11 - For peaceful celebration of Bihu programmes in Kamrup (Metro), the district administration has issued certain directions for Bihu function organising committees.
As per the advisory, proper emergency and evacuation plan must be put in place at venues where functions are to be organised.
�Adequate drinking water for the participants is to be provided. Proper toilet facility should be provided. Proper arrangement for parking of vehicles is to be made,� it said.
The administration has prohibited use of any kind of alcoholic, narcotic and psychotropic substances during the functions and asked all organising committees to deploy volunteers in sufficient numbers.
The Bihu committees have been directed to make garbage disposal plans and the organisers will have to maintain proper cleanliness and hygiene of the venues.
They will have to arrange positioning of fire-tenders and ambulances in the fields to tackle any kind of emergency.
�Proper arrangement of fire safety measures is to be maintained in the venues and certificate from Fire and Emergency Services is to be obtained. Certificate of the Pollution Control Board has to be obtained by the organisers,� the advisory stated.
Organisers have also been asked to obtain NoCs from the police department, Fire and Emergency Services and the APDCL in advance.
