Advisory against influx of illegal migrants

By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, Aug 6 - In view of the publication of final draft NRC in Assam on July 30, Wokha deputy commissioner Dr Manazir Jeelani Samoon on Monday issued an advisory to take preventive measures against influx of illegal immigrants into the Nagaland district.

He said all entry points/check gates manned by police should be strengthened to thwart any influx of illegal immigrants and mobile patrolling in venerable locations should be activated in the respective jurisdictions.

The advisory also said non-locals entering the district should not be allowed without the valid pass issued by the district administration and any unusual influx of outsiders without valid pass should be promptly brought to the knowledge of the district administration and police.

It also asked all the village/town/municipal authorities to take measures to strictly monitor influx of people from outside the State.

The advisory further said the district administration and police will strictly monitor the regulation of Inner Line Permit, especially along the border areas of Ralan and Bhandari.
