NAGAON, April 6 � BJP stalwart LK Advani addressed an election rally at Raha sports field today.
He observed that the UPA Government at the Centre is neck-deep in corruption, ranging from the 2G spectrum scam, Commonwealth Games scam, Adarsh Housing scam, etc.
Advani said that Bihar too experienced corrupt rule for two terms like Assam before a popular government ushered in a change in that State. He appealed to the electorate to dethrone the corrupt Congress Govt in Assam through the democratic way of exercising the franchise.
If voted to power, an alliance government comprising NDA will be installed in Assam and already Opposition parties have formulated their poll strategies, Advani added. He said the State will march ahead in the path of development in the 21st century if that happens.
State BJP chief Ranjit Dutta, Nagaon MP Rajen Gohain and party candidate for Raha Suryya Kr Das were also present in the meeting. Braving scorching sun, thousands of people assembled to hear the speech of the national leader.
Meanwhile, NCP national general secretary of the women�s cell Kamakshi Singh Mehlowal addressed a number of election meetings in Barhampur and Nagaon LAC today. Later, talking to this correspondent she observed that for development of a nation one must go for big projects with public-private partnership.
