GUWAHATI, Oct 19 � BJP national general secretary Kiran Maheswari on Wednesday castigated the ruling Congress in the State for failing to put behind bar the perpetrators of corruption and targeting Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, the BJP leader further said that Gogoi's remarks on the Indo-Bangla land deal reflected his smugness and irresponsibility.
Addressing media persons here on the eve of LK Advani's public rally scheduled on October 20 at Sonaram field as part of the party�s Jan Chetna Yaatra, Maheswari insisted that the Tarun Gogoi government come up with a white paper on the Indo-Bangla land deal with every detail and all the relevant records.
�This Indo-Bangla land deal is dangerous to the security and identity of Assam. But the Chief Minister of Assam is hardly bothered about it and is making irresponsible remarks regarding the deal,� said Maheswari assuring that the BJP will raise the issue in the Lok Sabha.
On the other hand, alleging that the Congress has failed to fulfil the election promises, Maheswari said that the hardships of the common people of the State had multiplied and that development was stalled.
