Administration ready for polls in 6 Kamrup (M) constituencies

GUWAHATI, Dec 16 - The Kamrup (Metro) district administration is all set to conduct the Tiwa Autonomous Council election in six constituencies of the district. Election will be held on Thursday and the district administration will oversee polling at 100 booths.

According to a statement, altogether 11,690 voters in 26-Dimoria constituency, 17,126 voters in 32-Digaru constituency, 15,823 voters in 33-Khetri constituency, 17,304 voters in 34-Sonapur constituency, 7,829 voters in 35-Ampri constituency and 8,407 voters in 36-Phong-Ari constituency will exercise their franchise.

The administration has set up a strong room at the Kaliram Barua Higher Secondary School here to keep the ballot boxes. Counting of votes will also take place at the same venue on December 19.

The State Election Commission has appointed District Development Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) Atul Kumar Sarma along with additional deputy commissioners Bipul Kumar Das and Munindra Bordoloi as returning officers for the election.
