GUWAHATI, Aug 8 - The Kamrup Metro district administration on Wednesday appealed to all street vendors and shopkeepers of Guwahati for not to sell plastic Tricolours ahead of the Independence Day to ensure strict compliance of the Flag Code.
The administration also appealed to all sections of society not to encourage selling and buying of plastic National Flags.
�We are all Indians and it is our duty to respect our National Flag. Today, we have made an appeal and very soon will start a drive against the selling of plastic flags in Guwahati,� Kamrup Metro DC Virendra Mittal stated.
