GUWAHATI, Oct 6 Voluntary organisation Save Guwahati Build Guwahati (SGBG) has praised the roles of the Guwahati City Police, Kamrup (Metro) district administration and the common Guwahatians during the Durga Puja days.

The City Police and the Kamrup (Metro) district administration worked in tandem to ensure peace and tranquillity in the city during the Puja days. The police personnel and the Biranganas worked in a dedicated manner to ensure safety and security of the people during the festival. They deserve thanks from the Guwahatians, said SGBG president Dhiren Barua.

The Puja days roles of the City Police and the civil administration of Kamrup (Metro) district make it amply clear that if allowed to work without any political interference, the Police and the civil administration can work miracles. The people of the State should hence demand that the Police and the civil administration should be freed from political interference, Barua said.

He also praised the common Guwahatians for their matured roles during the Puja days.
