Admin officials, police asked to keep vigil

GUWAHATI, June 10 - Following the lynching of two youths at Panjuri village in Karbi Anglong district, the Kamrup (Metro) district administration and City Police today held a joint meeting at the Circuit House here and instructed all officers to ensure adequate sensitisation of the public with reference to the appeal made by the Chief Minister to maintain peace and not be misled, frightened or instigated by any rumours.

Commissioner of Police HC Nath instructed all police officers to remain alert and ensure all possible steps to prevent any untoward incident in the district.

The meeting was chaired by District Development Commissioner Dr Bijoya Choudhury, who is also the Deputy Commissioner (in-charge) of Kamrup (Metro) district.

The meeting was attended by Joint Commissioner of Police Diganta Bora, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Brajen Jit Sinha, DCP Ranjan Bhuyan, DCP BM Rajkhowa, DCP B Mina, DCP Ramandeep Kaur, DCP Luish Aind, all ADCPs and ACPs from the police administration, and Additional DCs

P Mahanta, PP Bora, G Kashyap, R Konwar, and the Circle Officers of Guwahati, Azara, Dispur, Sonapur and Chandrapur revenue circles.
