Admin imposes curbs to keep corona at bay

GUWAHATI, March 18 - As a preventive measure for keeping coronavirus (COVID-19) at bay, the Kamrup (Metro) district administration on Wednesday imposed some restrictions on the entry of visitors to the Deputy Commissioner Office premises.

According to a statement, the administration would allow only those visitors coming with emergency issues to enter the office premises of the Deputy Commissioner. Again, the timing for entry of visitors has been limited between 10.30 am to 3 pm of a working day.

Further, washing hands at the entry point before entering the DC office would be mandatory for all employees and general citizens. The administration also arranged hand sanitisers in every room of the office.

The district administration is also carrying out extensive awareness programmes about the coronavirus disease in every part of the city from the past few days. In this connection, the DC directed all Circle Officers and School Inspector to take all kinds of steps by engaging the Panchayat machinery.

As a preventive measure, the administration urged all business entities of Guwahati to put a limit on public gatherings in their respective places.
