GUWAHATI, Aug 22 - With a view to streamlining the stock and price position of essential commodities in the open market in an efficient manner, following the severing of rail connectivity between the Northeast and other parts of the country, the Kamrup Metro district administration today ordered the Kamrup Chambers of Commerce (KCC) to take all necessary steps to bring sufficient foodstuff by road to ensure availability of stock of essential items in the market till rail links are restored.
�Every dealer will have to submit arrival reports of essential commodities to the licensing authority against arrival of each consignment. Each dealer will have to declare their place of business as well as place of storage and godown showing names of licences and telephone numbers by tomorrow,� said Dr M Angamuthu, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro.
He added that all dealers will have to furnish their present stock and price position of essential commodities being held by him or her each day before 11 am to the licensing authority in prescribed proforma.
The directions have been issued under clauses of The Assam Trade Articles (Licensing & Control) Order, 1982.
