TEZPUR, Jan 11 The Assam Adivasi Mukti Sangram Samiti (AAMSS), a frontline Adivasi organisation has demanded adequate security to the affected victims across Chirang, Kokrajhar, Udalguri and Sonitpur districts.

The state general secretary of the AAMSS, Biswajit Minz said that the organisation recently submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Assam through the Deputy Commissioner, Sonitpur, Lalit Gogoi seeking all sorts of assistance including medical assistance for those who lost their homes and hearths after the killings. As per our information, many people are still staying in the relief camps without the minimum adequate facilities. Though the agencies concerned claim to have provided sufficient relief materials to the relief inmates, practically, it is not happening. So, we appeal to the Government and the authorities concerned to provide adequate security and relief materials, to those who are still in the relief camps to show their sincerely, Minz said adding that they have demanded a CBI probe into the police firing upon the Adivasi protesters at Dhekiajuli on December 24 in which three people died on the spot.
