Additional 5 kg rice announced for ration card holders

DIBRUGARH, April 7 - The district administration here has announced that all ration card holders in the district under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) scheme would benefit additional 5 kg of rice free of cost under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for next three months from April to June, 2020.

The Government of India has come up with the scheme �Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana� so that people do not face any problem for food grains in view of the lockdown, a release stated.

The rice to be provided under the scheme will be in addition to the regular rice provided under the NFSA Scheme. The regular rice under NFSA is also being provided free of cost with effect from April, 2020, officials from the district administration informed.

For any grievances or if any fair price shop owner asks for any payment against the rice distributed, the consumers can lodge their complaints with the Field Officer, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs or intimate the matter to the concerned officers at office number 9864979809 or through email to [email protected], the release added.
