GUWAHATI, April 11 - The magnitude of the fund misutilisation in the advertisement scam in the State Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) is more than meets the eye, and the arrest of officials and other beneficiaries is imminent, official sources claimed.
Meanwhile, investigators of the Chief Minister�s Vigilance Cell examined the documents at the DIPR office here for the second consecutive day. �Once the seized documents are thoroughly examined, the process of questioning key accused, including the beneficiaries, would begin,� sources said.
Sources further divulged that a number of advertisements against which a huge amount of public money was spent never actually materialised. �It was only in official papers that such advertisements exist. There also appears to be a clear nexus between the government officials and the advertising agencies in question,� sources pointed out.
