SHILLONG, May 1 - A delegation of the Joint Action Committee, Mawlai, today met State Home Minister James Sangma and demanded stringent action against those responsible for the death of home guard and civil defence personnel, D Lyngdoh, in Ri Bhoi district recently.
The delegates were led by Committee secretary, S Lyngdoh Nonglait, who submitted a memorandum, urging the minister�s intervention in the case.
Lyngdoh � a resident of Mawlai Mawroh � was an employee of the Home Guards and Civil Defence. He was assaulted at the precincts of the Food Corporation of India warehouse at 10th Mile in Ri Bhoi district, allegedly by truck drivers from Assam.
