PANAJI, Nov 5 - With the Opposition and media criticising the government action against NDTV India, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today stressed that it was a security-related issue and the television channel appeared to have violated guidelines for coverage of terror attacks. �It is not a ban. They have been asked to put off the channel temporarily for a day,� he said.
Meanwhile, denouncing references to the Emergency in the context of the ban, Information and Broadcasting minister Venkaiah Naidu in Chennai said the action against the Hindi news channel was taken in the interest of the �country�s safety and security.� � PTI
