ACTA member files case in HC against UGC

BADARPUR, Aug 26 � Dr Khireswar Borah, member of the Central Executive Committee of Assam College Teachers Association (ACTA) of Kamrup (M) Zone, recently filed a case in the Gauhati High Court, against the composite package of UGC Regulation 2010, which has already been challenged by the Assam College Teachers Association.

In connection with this, a central executive committee meeting was held during the 59th annual conference of ACTA, held at Karimganj, where various issues were discussed.

Talking to The Assam Tribune, Dr Khireswar Borah, Associate Professor, Arya Vidyapith College, Guwahati and also a member of the CEC, Kamrup (M) Zone of ACTA, said that he has challenged the composite package of UGC Rules and Regulations 2010, in the Gauhati High Court. He has sought justice from the court, regarding the recent regualtion of 50-year upper age limit in respect of recruitment of principal in the provincialised colleges of Assam, extension of age of supperannuation upto 65 years in accordance with the provisions of the latest UGC regulations, etc.
